I played at Wolf Creek Golf Links, Inc., placed in Olathe, Kansas a couple of weeks ago in a Kansas City Cup match and must say it was a very beautiful golf course. We won the match, which may have made it that much better, but I conception post my characterize of the course while it was still fresh in my mind.

If you don't know about Wolf Creek or hadn't heard of it, you are in for a treat. First of all, it is a Men's only club. And that means assuredly no woMen allowed. The bartenders are men. The cart girls are men. Everyone there is a man. It is assuredly kind of a strange experience, but I guess some population are finding for that kind of environment.

That it is only men makes it a very exclusive golf course, and it is 100% private (except for events like the Kc Cup, where we got to play because of the format). I don't know the exact dues required to come to be a member, but based on the shape of the course, I'm sure they are quite large.

The course itself, although placed in Olathe, Kansas is very isolated. It is in the southernmost part of Olathe, out in the middle of a bunch of fields. The resignation provides great tranquility and a great golfing experience.

Driving up to the course is not an imposing sense like you might have at some other exclusive places. The clubhouse is modest, neither very extravagant nor shoddy. There is a bar, a locker room, and a dining room, among other rooms (post-round I did perceive a poker table placed in the back of a room full of gentlemen playing in what I am going to assume was a amiable game). The course is gated, but again, does not give off the Air of something as exclusive as it is rumored to be.

I think the suspect the clubhouse and facilities are so modest is twofold. First, with only guys there, how extravagant does it have to be? Isn't it cool enough just to say you belong to an all-male golf club? Second, by the shape of the course - it was beautiful - it appears that all of their money goes back into maintaining and upgrading the golf course itself.

Starting off, the range was very nice. It is grass, they a bunch of balls set up in range ball bags at each center (about 20 stations), and they have a bunch of bags filled with tees for your indulgence. Off the range, you hit to any distinct flag sticks at any distinct yardages. It was in great shape.

If you ever play here, a couple of putts on the green is a must. The greens are firm and Fast, and beautifully cut. They roll true, but take some getting used to because they are Faster than your median green. For me, truthfully, the day we played I conception the greens were just marginally fast. But I think that was because we played so early in the season. In the middle of the summer, I could see them being lightning fast.

As for the course itself, there is a lot of undulation and a lot of holes with miniature to no undulation. There are two par threes in particular, one on the front nine, one on the back, that I particularly liked. The first was slightly downhill with water guarding the front and right side of the green (everyone missed long and left - go figure). The other par three sits high on the tee box before descending what must be at least 100 feet to the green. It is a splendid finding tee shot.

Overall, I'd rate the course a 9 out of 10. The course was great from tee to green, and I had a great time. The only thing retention it back from being a 10 was that wow factor (although one of my opponents was a old major league all-star pitcher - that was cool - and he was a decent golfer). It was a very nice course, but when I was done I didn't feel distinct as a golfer - that's what a 10 takes from me.

Many generations of evolution cut off dogs and wolves. It does not make sense for us to learn how to interact with dogs from wolves. It makes about as much sense as studying to parent by Watching chimpanzees parent. But this is what happened when man put unrelated wolves together in captivity and then closed that domination is general behavior. This principles was then superimposed on dogs.

The Natural Wolf Pack

In reality a natural wolf pack is a family unit that consists of an adult alpha male and an adult alpha female and their adolescent offspring and pups. There are normally about six or seven blood connected members in a pack. The mated alpha male and female are the parents and leaders of their offspring pack just like humans lead and teach their offspring. David L. Mech, one of the worlds leading wolf experts asserts, "In the natural wolf pack dominance contests with other wolves are rare if they exist at all". Dr. Mech also writes in the Canadian Journal of Zoology in 1999, "The typical wolf pack is a family, with the adults guiding the activities of a group in a division-of-labor system". Researchers have learned that dominance is rare behavior for wolves and may be a by stock of captivity where man put unrelated wolves together. Dominate behavior in wolves is based on environMental circumstances and is not an instinctual directive.

Cesar Milan

Currently there is controversy and debate going on in dog training circles. One side represented by Cesar Milan promotes the principles of dogs as wolves and promotes dominance training by pet owners and states there are only leaders and followers in a relationship. There is dominance or submission, no partnering. Cesar's way is a one size fits all coming to dog training. On his Tv program on the National Geographic channel Cesar uses techniques difficult for owners to replicate and uses techniques that could effect in injury to the owner or their dog. That is why National Geographic has a disclaimer that runs at the bottom of the screen warning, "Don't try this at home". Writer Mark Derr whose articles have appeared in Audubon, Natural History, Atlantic Monthly, and other publications and who is the author of critically acclaimed books like Frontiersman and Dog's Best Friend writes that Cesar's ethology is outdated. He additional states, "he is a charming one man wrecking ball directed at 40 years of strengthen in the comprehension and shaping dog behavior and in developing non-punitive, repayMen based training programs, which have led to looking the dog as an individual, to understand what motivates it, what frightens it, and what its talents and limitations are". Many dog training experts are alarmed that Cesar Milan has come to be the face of dog training and are shaken by the fact that he has taken the world of dog behavior by storm. More and more involved dog professionals are becoming increasingly vocal in expressing their disagreeMent with Cesar's methods.

Ian Dunbar

The other side of the debate is represented by the sublime and beloved Ian Dunbar author of six books on pet training, developer of one of the earliest puppy training courses in the United States (Sirius Puppy Training), possessor of a veterinary degree, and a extra Honors in Physiology and Biochemistry from the Royal Veterinary College of London University, a doctorate in animal behavior from the psychology agency of Uc Berkley, a decade of research, and decades of dog-training experience. The only things Ian and Cesar both agree on is that all dogs can and should be trained and that dogs need regular and adequate amounts of exercise. Ian Dunbar believes all training is negotiation and compliance can best be achieved through obvious training methods. His emphasis on obvious approaches like lure repayMen methods using treats and praise has revolutionized the dog training field. He once ran a behavior clinic for fighting and biting dogs and he is the founder of the relationship of Pet Dog Trainers (Apdt), an organization with thousands of members. The involved social order of the wolf family is as loving and caring an environMent as one will find in the wild. A strong male and his mate, form the town of this tight-knit group. As with any inherent relationship, first impressions will last a lifetime.

Few animals have undergone the challenge in social perception, as has the North America wolf. For decades this feared and often hunted vertebrate had gone extinct in many areas of Canada and the United States that they had roomed freely for 1000s of years. Today many conservation efforts and social awareness has helped reintroduce wolf packs into many national parks over the Us and Canada. Montana with one of the largest wolf populations in the Us has seen an increase of 8 percent in 2010. This increase while requisite only brings the total to 565 wolves in the state and only 1650 over the mid west and about 60,000 over all of North America.

The biggest supporters of the reintroducing these wolves back into many areas are the Western Wildlife Conservancy and the Defenders of Wildlife Organization. These pro wolf groups straight through fundraising and lobbying efforts have made an impact in the hunting and trapping laws associated with the animal as well as raising social awareness and support. It is the goal of both these organizations to protect the species as well as the habit in which it roams.

Many citizen today are also studying about the life of the wolf straight through art. The renewed interest in wolf conversation has inspired many wildlife painters and sculptures to take a second look at this gorgeous animal and the life it lives. Internationally sublime artist Stephen Lyman pioneered the renewed spirit of the wolf straight through more than a dozen painting that received many esteemed awards in the late 80's and early 90's. Named one of the World's top artist prior to his untimely death in 1996. Millions of citizen have seen his spirit and devotion to this vertebrate straight through his art. This statue and many others depict the wolf as a dedicated, caring and sociable animal. This is a stark inequity how the world portrayed this animal only a decade earlier.

While many organizations champion the plight of the wolf pack and the environment. It has been straight through paintings, posters of wolves and wolf statues that has made the biggest impact on the definite perception in today's society. Showing these creatures in a definite light has helped the survival of these creatures and has helped bring them back from the brink of extinction.

Early mans diet consisted mostly of meat and some grains and vegetation. It was more favorable and nutritious for man being an omnivore. But since there were no commercial dog Food stores, dogs ate the scraps from their human family's meal. But what about today's domesticated dogs? What is the best dog Food to feed our pets? There is a surmise I reference the origin of the domesticated dog being the wolf. We sometimes need a reminder that our best friend on all fours needs a very similar dog food diet to its aged ancestors.

Leader of the Pack

Every pack has two leaders, the alpha male and his companion the alpha female. These two wolves are the most powerful wolves in the pack. If you have a line leader or special class helper, you might want to call him or her the Leader of the Pack.

One way to adopt the Pack Leader is to write children's names on note cards and put them in a pile. After a child has been the Leader of the Pack, take off that child's card from the pile. Continue this rotation until you have gone straight through the whole pile of names cards and each child has been the Leader once. Using the note cards is also a good way to adopt children in other classroom situations, such as for class Jobs or to write back questions, and so forth. It allows children see that you are fAir and don't have any favorites.

Some children may not want to be singled out as the Leader. Accept their decision, praise their efforts, and adopt another. It's best to let shy children assume leadership roles gently throughout the course of the year as they come to be more comfortable in separate situations.

Howling Sessions

Contrary to favorite belief, wolves don't howl at the moon! But they do howl for lots of other reasons: to unite the pack, to find each other in a strange territory, to send messages, to warn of danger, to announce a successful hunt, or just for fun!

Phil 2-12 - Work out Your Own Salvation with Fear and Trembling - Oh Really, is That So?

Yes, is that so? How many of you out there take this illegitimate translation nothing else but or to put it another way, take it as read? How many of you have been spiritually abused by the use of this Scripture by ravening wolves in pulpits!? Of all the translation errors in the New TestaMent this has to be the worst there is, and to date after 25 years of Bible study I have found no irregularity to this stateMent.

First off I will copy the King James Version of this Scripture here below followed by the former Greek. By doing this I will quote all the errors in the King James Version and I will also quote an error in the translation of the Greek as well.

Phil 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have all the time obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

As-besides favorite of me according-as all the time ye-obey (hupakouo) no as, as in the beside-being of me only but now much rather in the from-being of me with fear (phobos) and trembling the of-selves saving be-ye-down-acting.

You will observation that I have included the Greek words 'hupakouo' and 'phobos' in the Greek rendition and I will elaborate the guess for this later. You will also observation the words 'work out' are not in the Greek version. These words were added by the translators to support their 'salvation by works' teaching schedule of their non-gospel. First though, I wish to encapsulate the environment or the times in which early Christians lived, together with those in Philippi. First century Christians didn't have it cushty and easy peasy like we do in our molly coddled 21st century western world, although that is going to convert soon, and how!!?? So Watch out! You have been warned here on Ezine Articles, so be on your guard and learn to be as wise as serpents but as harmless as doves. Just as the Lord Jesus Christ instructed in Matt 10:16.

Unlike many of us, first century Christians had to deal with real persecution, they were society's scapegoats of the day. If whatever went wrong, in a Roman community that was riddled with pagan superstitious mumbo jumbo and paranoia, then these Christian 'troublemakers' were the first port of call for the local angry mob. These angry mobs were frequently egged on and encouraged by the local Pharisees and religious leaders. These were very frightening times for Christians especially those new to the Faith. Paul's visits, therefore, were all the time warmly welcomed because he was such a tower of Spiritual strength, support and encouragement to the brothers and sisters in Christ and this is the reality of the situation at Philippi as recorded in Phil 2:12.

Phil 1:28-29 And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an clear token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. 29 For unto you it is given in the profit of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake. Here in the preceding verses we can see Paul encouraging them not to be afraid of their adversaries. Ok, so what is the point I am development here? The point I am development is the blasphemous way in which Phil 2:12 is used by ravening wolves in pulpits to put the fear of God into their fellowships. This is a fear that should not exist and yet does exist because of the heretical teaching of the aforementioned ravening wolves, regarding this verse. So what is wrong with the translation of this verse? Pretty well everything is the talk to that? First up we have the word 'obeyed' translated from the Greek word 'hupakouo' and I will copy here Strong's comments on this word:

From G5259 and G191; to hear under (as a subordinate), that is, to listen attentively; by implication to heed or conform to a command or authority: - hearken, be obedient to, obey.

In nearly every case, when the words 'obey' and 'obedience' are used in The New Testament they are a mistranslation and the above use in Phil 2:12 is no exception. We must understand that followers of The Lord Jesus Christ do so willingly, they ensue Him willingly - no obedience is required. Followers of the Lord Jesus Christ also 'hearken or listen attentively' which is the real meaning of 'hupakouo'. Why do they listen or hearken attentively is it because they have to or because they want to!!?? Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. Now here is a critical question, was Mary at Jesus' feet because He told her to sit there or because she willingly and voluntarily wanted to sit there? Was there an inner desire to listen to The Lord Jesus or did the local Pharisee come round and order her to do it? Can you now see the blasphemy of the use of the word 'obey'? I hope so 'cos that's just what it is.

As a final point, as I want to move on, you will observation that Strong puts in 'as a subordinate' in brackets which means he thinks it is a 'Yes Sir' - 'No sir - three bags full sir' military style arrangement. This is just an erroneous personal interpretation and the brackets are thoroughly his. He also states: "by implication to heed or conform to a command or authority: - hearken, be obedient to, obey." In fAirness he does say it is implied but on what grounds? Unfortunately on Pharisaical grounds - his implied meaning is graceless nonsense and it is pure Old ageement legalism. We serve The Lord Jesus Christ because we want to not because we have to. If we think we 'have to', we have a serious question and Nasa won't be able to help you out of it either.

Let's get back to the verse in question: Work out your own Salvation with fear and trembling. If, as Christians, we don't live in a world of persecution what are we supposed to tremble with fear about? Many so called ministers of God teach we should work out our own salvation and be in fear of God and tremble with fear no less. No messing about with these Bible bashing fundies eh, they know what's what and they let you have it, smack in the middle of the eyes. Not nothing else but of policy but it might as well be? Then we have the other collection of 'minister', you know, those more liberal 'sensitive types' who will attempt to elaborate this verse away so as not to frighten you or worry you. They do that by saying: "Oh, to fear God means to revere and respect Him; be in awe of Him in a fearful way" Utter bunkum and humbug when applied to this verse! This is why I quoted the Greek word 'phobos' next to fear in the Greek rendering. From 'phobos' we get the English word phobia which means a fear of something. Then we get trembling with the word fear so Paul is not being ambiguous here in this verse he is assuredly speaking about being very frightened indeed.

Frightened of what though? Well we know don't we, I have already explained why these Christians were trembling with fear - persecution, possible torture and death. These were evil times in which these right habitancy lived. Now let's analyse this verse properly. Paul is emphasising something else here in this verse that is nothing else but missed. If we keep our minds fixed on the backdrop of persecution and read these words again "not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence," we can now begin to see the emphasis shifting onto the strict subject matter. Paul was beseeching them to not loose faith in these difficult fearful times especially in his absence or without him being there to progress and encourage them. He then adds, and I will switch to the Greek for this part: "with fear (phobos) and trembling the of-selves saving be-ye-down-acting." The term 'be-ye-down-acting' means to achieve or finish so Paul here is confirming what I have already stated. This verse is about not giving up under huge life threatening pressure and fear. It's an exhortation to be brave and bear up whilst going straight through a period of severe suffering. This verse has nothing to do with being in fear of God. It also has nothing to do with our working out our own Salvation for Salvation is a free God given gift and was 'worked out' for us at the cross. Our works have nothing to do with it.

Northern Pike are Mean Vicious Fish that can go from 0 to sixty in seconds and will eat just about anyone that won't eat them first! Northern Pike can hit so hard that if you are not true they will rip your rod right out of your hands! Some people use heavy duty rods and heavy duty line and big time steel leaders and giant lures to Fish for Northern Pike.If you are comfortable with this gear go for it. I have always Fished a limited on the lite side. My basic Northern Pike gear is a medium activity Ugly Stick and A Pfluger reel with 10 or 12 Lb. Line. I do use a steel leader sometimes. I have never caught a truly huge Northern Pike, my biggest is about 10Lbs.

Northern Pike can be found in a wide range of water. They are usually found throughout the Midwest and the Northern states and Canada.You can find them in shallow weedy bays and in deep open water. When I am casting for Northern Pike I like to use spinnerbaits that weigh about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 oz. And have big blades.These work well in the shallow weedy bays. Reel Fast and keep it out of the weeds.

I have caught most of my Northern Pike in Canada trolling minnow shaped lures that were 7 inches long and blue with a white belly. Blue seemed to outfish anyone else there! One year for the whole week I used one lure, a 5 inch Crappie print crankbait and just cleaned up on Northern. Casting, trolling anyone they were very interested in that crankbait. There is no Crappie in that lake. It is the only lure I used all week. I still have it it is pretty beat up and I don't use it but I still have it! Red and White Spoons known as daredevils work great for Northern. Like I said above Northern Pike will eat just about anyone that won't eat them first. I once caught a Northern in Wisconsin that was about 24 inches long and had the tail of one roughly that big sticking out of it's mouth and it still went after a big spoon bait!

Another fun way to catch Northern Pike is to use live bait. Get into a shallow bay with some weeds and hook up a big minnow under a big bobber. This takes patience. When you see that bobber go down you can't go set the hook right away or you will most likely loose the fish. I leave tha bail open. The northern will hit the minnow on the move and then stop and swallow the minnow head first and you have to give them time. I don't give them to long as I don't want to gut hook them. I usually let everything go. Once in a while I keep some to eat. You must cope Northern Pike very carefully. For one big lures big fish lot's of hooks. If that big Northern flops with a 7 inch minnow bait stuck in it's mouth it can also stick you very easily. They also have teeth that slant backwards in there mouth and if they clamp down on you fingers or hand it's gonna hurt! With all that said you have to be true for the fish also. They get very slimy when they are caught, when they get stressed. If you disturb this slime coat it can have a bad sway on the fish. Never grab the fish by the eyes. I have seen people do this. This will damage that fish beyond repAir. It will blind or easily mess up the fishes eyes and it will die! If you have to cope the fish for a photo do it swiftly and get it back in the water. Do not use a rag or towel to hold the fish. This is worse than the hands and will take off the slime coat.

In England Northern Pike used to be carefully a trash fish and were to be thrown up on the shore to die.

Northern pike can be a blast to catch and they are very tasty if you can get the Y bones out. This is not hard to do and like I said they are very tasty.
