Economic downturn be damned, you've decided to move ahead with the kitchen re-design and you're inspecting buying a Wolf kitchen appliance package. Congrats, you're not alone - I keep meeting wave after wave of appliance shoppers who have decided to deal with the housing crisis by sitting tight and investing in their existing home. People have told me that they are doing this with the hope of selling in 2-4 years, or, you have the other folks who outline they are staying in their homes for another 5 years or more, are animated at home more than going out, so they want to make the crib as comfy as possible.

And you know what? A lot of folks are digging the Wolf ovens and Wolf ranges..again.

Last year wasn't easy when it came to selling any high-end appliances. Sure, you had confident individuals who needed a SubZero to replace an old one that was dying, and there were a handful of folks who weren't feeling the financial pinch so the K appliance buy was still a reality. But for many, many folks, purchasing premium appliances became a pipe dream

But like I said, suddenly there's been a seismic change and Wolf appliances seems to be an early winner. People are starting to get more comfortable spending money and investing in their homes, and I feel that there is a belief in the marketplace that Wolf makes the Best cooking appliances in the business. So you're not buying a Wolf. You're manufacture an investment. That resonates with People nowadays. They like the fact that Wolf is still a family-owned business. They like the fact that all Wolf appliances are made in America. They like the idea that the Wolf gas range has a decades-old legacy in many market kitchens.

So if you're finding at Wolf appliances, here's a quick guide to make you somewhat hazardous for your next trip to appliance showroom, this way you won't have an appliance sales guy talking over your head with technical jargon. These questions are based on the most favorite queries I receive concerning Wolf appliances.

Question #1. I can't decide between a Wolf gas range or dual fuel range.

Simply put, the dual fuel range offers self cleaning and an galvanic oven. It also has an electronic control panel on the front of the range. Do you bake alot? Does a stabler oven temp mean something to you? Then buy the Wolf dual fuel range, but perceive that it's about 00 more than the comparable gas version.

Question #2. What is the distinction between a framed and unframed oven and is there a price difference?

On the framed oven, the oven glass does not meet the edge, it has a border. Unframed, the opposite, glass goes all the way to the side. Same price.

Question #3. Why do I need a riser in the back of my Wolf range?

Well technically, you don't need one, but I can certify that if you don't put one back there it's going to at the very least look...incomplete. Do you want a gaping space in the back of your range? Doesn't make any sense. Plus, there's something about the riser being beneficial if the back wall area is combustible...someone may have mentioned that to me or I dreamt it...I'll have to re-check that for you.

Question #4. But I am tiling my wall in the back of the range, I Don'T Want A Riser (foot stomping ensues)

Then don't buy the riser. Go with the island trim which fills in the hole and only comes up about 2". Abundance of room for your tile to be appreciated.

Question #5 Why doesn't anything have Wolf appliance prices on their websites?

'Cause Wolf says so.

Question #6 How good is the Wolf double wall oven?

You mean the Wolf D030Fs? That's a beauty. I love that piece. My aunt bought one and I go to their home and cook with it frequently. It's a pleasure to use, quiet, the oven holds the heat perfectly - thanks to two fans, no cold spots. And capacity is Huge. You can stuff a Pterodactyl in there, let alone a good-sized turkey.

Question # 7 I was thinking of buying a Thermador or Dcs oven instead. They are less expensive.

You're right they are. And those are both great wall oven producers. If the Wolf double oven is out of your budget, then run, don't walk to either Dcs or Thermador (actually Monogram makes some nice wall ovens as well).

But if the Wolf is in your financial reach, you have to do it. Like I said, that single model, the Wolf D030Fs is absolute work of art. And it cooks damn well to boot.

Coyote Trapping Or How To Trap The Coyote

The United States are blessed with several species of wolf and coyote. The Grey Wolf, which is the largest, and the smaller, Prairie Wolf or Coyote, being the most ordinarily known. There is also the White Wolf, Black Wolf and the Texan or Red Wolf. In outward form they all bear a valuable resemblance to each other and their habits are ordinarily similar in the distinct varieties.

Wolves are fierce and risky animals, and are very distinguished of limb and fleet of foot. They are very cowardly in character, and will seldom attack man or animal except when by their greater numbers they would be sure of victory. Wolves are found in practically every quarter of the globe. Mountain and plain, field, jungle and prairie are alike infested with them, and they hunt in united bands, feeding upon practically any animal which by their combined attacks they can overpower.

Their inroads upon herds and sheep folds are sometimes horrifying, and a singular wolf has been known to kill as many as forty sheep in a singular night, seemingly from mere blood-thirsty desire.

In the early colonization of America, wolves ran wild over the country in huge numbers, and were a source of great danger; but now, owing to wide-spread civilization and over trapping, they have disappeared from the more placed localities and are chiefly found in Western wilds and prairie lands.

The Grey Wolf is the largest and most formidable representative of the Dog tribe on this continent. Its normal appearance is truthfully given in our drawing. Its length, exclusive of the tail, is about four feet, the length of the tail being about a foot and a half. Its color varies from yellowish grey to practically white in the northern countries, in which latitude the animal is sometimes found of an great size, measuring nearly seven feet in length. They voyage in bands and untidily attack anyone animal they desire to kill. Their homes are made in burrows which they excavate in the ground. The Texan Wolf inhabits the latitude of Texas and southward. It is of a tawny red color and nearly as large as the grey species, possessing the same savage nature.

The coyote is practically as sly and cunning as the fox, and the same caution is required in coyote trapping. They are very keen scented, and the mere touch of a human hand on the trap is often adequate to forestall the possibility of capture. A mere footprint, or the scent of tobacco juice, they look upon with great suspicion, and the nearnessy of whether will often forestall success.

To avoid all human scent the trap (size No, 4) should be smoked or smeared with beeswax or blood, and set in a bed of ashes or other material, covering with moss, chaff, leaves or some other light substance. Some coyote trappers rub the traps with "brake leaves," sweet fern, or even skunk's cabbage. Gloves should always be worn in handling the traps, and all tracks should be obliterated as much as possible.

A tasteless way of securing the coyote consists in setting the trap in a spring or puddle of water, throwing the dead body of some large animal in the water beyond the trap in such a position that the coyote will be obliged to tread upon the trap, in order to reach the bait.

Another plan of coyote hunting is to fasten the bait between two trees which are very close together, setting a trap on each side and considered concealing them as already directed, and securing each to a clog of about twenty pounds in weight.

There are varied scent or trail baits used in trapping the coyote. Oil of Asafetida is by many trappers considered the best, but Oil of Rhodium, powdered fennel, fenugreek and Cumin Oil are also much used. It is well to smear a petite of the first mentioned oil near the traps, using any one of the other substances, or in fact a combination of them all, for the trail. This may be made by smearing the preparation on the sole of the boots and walking in the direction of the traps, or by dragging from one trap to other a piece of meat scented with one of these substances.

A large dead-fall, constructed of logs, when skillfully scented and baited, will often charm a coyote into its clutches, and a very strong twitch-up, with a noose formed of heavy wire, or a strip of stout calf hide, will successfully capture the crafty creature.
